November Roundup: fireworks, fender & kazoos
Updated: Apr 1
November has been a killer month, mostly spent in and around Newcastle! We've played to more people this month than EVER before. We are so grateful to Metro Radio UK for having us at two of its huge events: Saltwell Park Fireworks in Gateshead (20,000 people!) and the Newcastle Christmas Lights (10,000 people!)
Nov. 2nd: Saltwell Park Fireworks
Absolute pleasure playing in front of so many people here... a bit mental really. Thanks Metro Radio for inviting us.
Nov. 7th: Newcastle Xmas Lights
We had a cracking time here, along with the awesome sister duo Khalysis. It was FREEEEEEEZING THOUGH. Met geordie lad Sam Fender backstage - cos of him, about 10k people showed up. So yeah, thanks Sam & Metro Radio UK for drawing in a big crowd for us!
I Now Play Kazoo Like Sam Fender
Backstage at the Xmas lights, Fender kept blowing on what I initially thought was a party popper... I was thinking: what is he doing with one of those?! Anyhow, I've recently been doing some vocal rehab myself and was advised by a therapist to use a kazoo. Turns out that was what Fender was using! He's recently struggled with vocal issues like I have.
Turns out this lil thing is REALLY great for retraining your vocal chords. I'm now the proud owner of a kazoo. Played it once and Alfie was fuming - so I use it as far away from him as possible everyday and it's doing the trick really well.
Nov. 20th: Head of Steam, Newcastle
This was SUCH a fantastic night with a brilliant crowd of dancing Newcastle inhabitants. Thank you Pillar Artists for having us for your 100th gig celebration! We truly loved playing at Head of Steam... Also, Tranqua Lite and 100 Fables smashed it with their amazing performances and carefully crafted bangers ✨ Photos: LTJ Photography
Nov. 29th: We supported DECO at Think Tank? Newcastle
We supported the incred feel-good pop outfit Deco at one of our favourite venues in the North-East. Daniel Burnett was also supporting, filling the room with his pop bangers. We kicked off the night and were lucky to have a great crowd moving to some of our new songs, so cheers to anyone who was there!
After our gig at Think Tank? we went and did another set for Electrofest at The Globe which was put together by Mark Dee of Sapien Trace - these guys have a really unique sound, full of darkness & grit with some 80s pop thrown in.
In other news... we're nearing 10k followers on Spotify! Please help us along by following us HERE.
Peace, Anna (& Alfie)
